Refund and cancellation terms clearly explained

At Saum, we curate spiritual and pilgrimage journeys with great care and work closely with temples, hotels, transport providers, and other partners. This Refunds & Cancellations Policy explains the terms applicable to cancellations, changes, and refunds for both travel services and retail products purchased through our platform.

By making a booking or purchase with Saum, you acknowledge and agree to the terms set out below.

  1. Travel Services – Pilgrimage & Spiritual Journeys
    1. Booking Confirmation
      • A travel booking is considered confirmed only upon receipt of full payment.
      • Once confirmed, Saum begins advance arrangements with third-party vendors, many of whom operate on strict non-refundable terms.
    2. Cancellation by the Customer

      Due to the nature of pilgrimage travel and advance commitments:

      • Most pilgrimage packages are non-refundable, unless explicitly stated otherwise at the time of booking.
      • Any cancellation request must be made in writing via email to support@saum.in.

      Where refunds are permitted, they will be processed after deducting applicable non-recoverable costs, which may include:

      • Vendor cancellation charges
      • Temple or ritual booking fees
      • Administrative and service fees

      The exact refund amount (if any) will depend on vendor policies and the stage of booking at the time of cancellation.

    3. Date Changes / Modifications
      • Requests for date changes or itinerary modifications are subject to availability and vendor approval.
      • Approved changes may attract additional charges due to repricing, penalties, or fresh bookings.
      • Saum reserves the right to decline modification requests where changes are not feasible.
    4. No-Shows & Early Departures
      • No refunds will be provided for no-shows, missed departures, or unused services.
      • Early departures or voluntary withdrawal from the trip do not qualify for refunds.
    5. Cancellations or Changes by Saum

      Saum may be required to alter, reschedule, or cancel a journey due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:

      • Temple closures or changes in temple regulations
      • Government orders or administrative restrictions
      • Natural disasters, extreme weather, or force majeure events
      • Vendor unavailability

      In such cases:

      • Saum will make reasonable efforts to offer an alternative arrangement or revised itinerary.
      • If a refund is applicable, it will be limited to the amount actually recovered from vendors.
      • Saum shall not be liable for additional expenses incurred by the customer (such as flight tickets booked independently).
  2. Retail Products – Incense Sticks & Spiritual Goods
    1. Order Confirmation
      • Retail orders are confirmed only after successful completion of full payment.
      • Once dispatched, orders cannot be cancelled.
    2. Returns & Refunds

      Due to the consumable and devotional nature of incense and spiritual products:

      • Returns are not accepted unless the product delivered is damaged, defective, or incorrect.
      • Any such issue must be reported within 48 hours of delivery along with clear photographic evidence.

      Upon verification:

      • A replacement or refund will be issued at Saum's discretion.
      • Refunds, if approved, will be processed to the original payment method within a reasonable timeframe.
    3. Non-Returnable Items

      The following are not eligible for return or refund:

      • Products damaged due to misuse or improper storage
      • Opened or used incense products
      • Items reported beyond the specified reporting window
  3. Refund Processing
    • Approved refunds are processed to the original mode of payment.
    • Processing timelines may vary based on banks, payment gateways, and financial institutions.
    • Saum does not control external processing delays once a refund has been initiated.
  4. Force Majeure

    Saum shall not be held responsible for delays, cancellations, or failures to perform resulting from events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:

    • Acts of God
    • Pandemics or public health emergencies
    • Political unrest or strikes
    • Changes in law or government directives

    Refunds in such cases, if any, will be subject to vendor recovery and applicable policies.

  5. Policy Updates

    Saum reserves the right to update or modify this Refund & Cancellation Policy at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting on the Platform.
